LOS ANGELES:- Beckett Cypher was the son of American singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge and American singer David Crosby.
His mother Melissa announced her son’s death news,
“Today I joined the hundreds of thousands of families who have lost loved ones to opioid addiction.”
He passed away because of causes related to opioid addiction in May 2020 in the afternoon. He was 21 years old when he died.
Melissa said,
“My son Beckett, who was just 21, struggled to overcome his addiction and finally succumbed to it today. He will be missed by those who loved him, his family and his friends. My heart is broken. I am grateful for those who have reached out with condolences and I feel their love and sincere grief. We struggle with what else we could have done to save him, and in the end, we know he is out of the pain now.”
Melissa Etheridge (58 Years old) and her partner filmmaker Julie Cypher had two children a daughter Bailey (Born in 1997) and a son named Beckett.

Beckett was born via artificial insemination from Cypher. In January 2000, Julie and Melissa revealed it to be Crosby.
Once Melissa said,
“I do not believe that my children will be wanting in any way because they didn’t have a father in the home every single day. What they have in the home are two loving parents. I think that puts them ahead of the game.”
Melissa and Julie separated and moved into back-to-back houses to facilitate co-parenting.
Melissa told in 2016 that they considered their close friend Brad Pitt to be the biological father of their children but she knew how much Brad wanted his own family, She told Australia’s Studio 10,
“I saw how badly he wanted children and I thought, ‘I don’t want to share this with someone who really, badly wants children because my children don’t need another parent – they have two.”
Melissa told Andy Cohen in 2022,
“My children are like, ‘I could have had Brad Pitt as a father!’” she said. “I’m like, ‘No….’”
Beckett’s mother Melissa Etheridge has also twins a son Miller and a daughter Johnnie from her relationship with Tammy Lynn Michaels.
Beckett Cypher was born on 18 November 1998 and passed away in May 2020 in Wewatta Street, Denver, Colorado, United States.
He had five siblings named Bailey Jean Cypher, Django Crosby, James Raymond, Donovan Crosby, and Erika Keller Crosby.
