Another Teen Mom star has found themselves in trouble with the IRS, and this time it’s Maci Bookout, who’s reportedly facing a back due tax debt of more than $26,000.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly, Maci was hit for a lien of $14,227 in May. She already has an existing lien for over $12,500 stemming from unpaid taxes in 2017. One thing the court filing doesn’t reveal is why Maci owes taxes to the state of California, considering she’s never owned property there, to the public’s knowledge.

The Ashley points out that Maci’s company, Bulletproof Enterprises, has a mailing address in California’s Newport Beach, which could explain the tax issues. However, the company’s primary address is her Tennessee address.

Unfortunately, Maci has had tax-related troubles various times throughout the years. In 2013, she faced a lien of over $78,000, only to receive another one or $5,300 two years later. Those liens have reportedly been paid off.

She’s also not the only Teen Mom star to face a similar sort of issue. Her co-star Leah Messer reportedly owes nearly $1 million in back due taxes - $780,000 to be specific.

This was one of the major reasons Leah reportedly wasn’t put on the deed of the home she bought with her then-fiancé Jaylan Mobley in March 2022, even though it was mainly her money going into the property.

When the couple split up only months after buying the home, Jaylan apparently agreed to allow Leah and her daughters to live in the home in exchange for her not revealing specific details about their highly publicized relationship.

“Jaylan does not want the full story getting out there,” a source said at the time, amid rumors Jaylan had cheated on Leah. “He did everything he could to keep Leah from going public with the story.”

“He agreed to sign the house over, on the condition that Leah sign an NDA and not discuss the reason behind their breakup,” the insider continued. “As long as Leah agrees to keep it quiet, legally everything will move forward to her having the house in her name only.”

“She filmed a few times about the breakup, once with a friend and once with Jaylan,” they added. “But the only thing Leah was allowed to say on-camera was that she signed an NDA and couldn’t really discuss it.”

Leah may not be able to discuss her break-up on camera, but tax debts are another subject the cast has barely addressed, despite the huge sums many of them apparently owe to the IRS.
