That’s right, David Schwimmer is more than just ‘Friends.’ At one point in his career, David would admit that it became a bit of a burden, only being known as ‘Ross,’ while everyone forgot about his prior roles;

“There was a period that I was very, very frustrated by being pigeonholed in this one genre, this one idea. I got Friends when I was 27 but I had done all this work on stage. But all that was just eradicated. As far as the public was concerned, I came out of the womb doing a sitcom. So that was frustrating as if it obliterated all the other training, all the other roles I had done.”

It wasn’t the easiest time during the show’s epic run for the sitcom star, it got to the point where he could hardly go out anymore, as was always noticed by fans.

Looking back, however, David has a new perspective these days, as he revealed with The Guardian;

“The older I get and the more my perspective shifts,” he says, “the more you realise just how good you had it. That 10-year run with that particular cast, that group of writers, those directors. It was an amazing time professionally, but mostly creatively.”

Since then, he has moved on, working on several projects along the way. One of them is entirely different and it reminds us of his paleontology ways on Friends.

Narrating ‘Mysterious Planet’

According to Page Six, ‘Mysterious Planet’ is something completely different for Schwimmer, a gig he has never tackled before;

“ It is an epic journey to the ends of the earth, combining humor with the awe and beauty of the natural world,” it says, “this special looks to unlock the greatest mysteries behind the world’s most incredible species.”

The show is set to air on Discovery Plus, and David started the hype via Twitter;

Of course, as one might expect, the comment section was filled with jokes about Marcel, Ross’ old monkey back in the early seasons of the show.

Who knows, maybe we’ll see the two reunite? Let’s hope!
